1. Overview

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Cheaper Building Materials website and the purchase of any products from us. By placing an order, you agree to these terms in full.

We supply reclaimed materials, aggregates, bulk‑bag products, logs, and construction materials delivered via HIAB crane‑fitted vehicles. Due to the nature of our products, certain conditions apply to delivery, returns, and refunds.


2. Products & Availability

All products listed on our website are subject to availability. Natural materials such as aggregates, soil, logs, and reclaimed items may vary in colour, texture, and appearance. These variations are normal and not considered defects.

We reserve the right to update product descriptions, prices, and availability at any time.


3. Pricing & Payment

All prices shown on our website include VAT unless stated otherwise. Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering. Orders are not confirmed until payment has been received.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors at any time.


4. Delivery

4.1 Delivery Method

All bulk bags and heavy materials are delivered using a HIAB crane‑fitted truck. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure:

  • suitable access for the delivery vehicle

  • safe and stable ground for offloading

  • clear instructions for placement

If access is restricted or unsafe, we may be unable to complete the delivery.

4.2 Delivery Placement

Our drivers will always aim to place your order exactly where requested, but final placement is at the driver’s discretion for safety reasons.

4.3 Failed Delivery

If delivery cannot be completed due to access issues, unsafe conditions, or incorrect information provided by the customer, additional charges may apply.


5. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Our full Returns & Refund Policy applies, but the key points are:

5.1 Returns on Bulk Bags

We accept returns on bulk bags once the driver has collected the product and confirmed there are no discrepancies. A 17% refund fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

5.2 Refund Window

Customers have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return or refund.

5.3 Change of Mind

We accept returns for change of mind. A 17% return fee applies, and the customer is responsible for all return transport costs.

5.4 Exchanges

If the wrong product has been ordered, we can arrange an exchange. A £20 delivery and exchange fee applies.

5.5 Return Costs

All return transport costs are paid by the customer.

5.6 Non‑Refundable Situations

We cannot refund items that:

  • have been used

  • are contaminated

  • are not in a resellable condition

  • cannot be collected due to access issues

5.7 Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, we will provide a full refund or replacement at no extra cost.


6. Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before dispatch. Once dispatched or delivered, the return and refund rules above apply.


7. Liability

Cheaper Building Materials is not liable for:

  • delays caused by third‑party couriers

  • access restrictions preventing delivery

  • damage caused by unsuitable ground conditions

  • natural variations in reclaimed or natural materials

Our liability is limited to the value of the order placed.


8. Use of Website

You agree not to:

  • misuse the website

  • attempt to access restricted areas

  • copy or reproduce content without permission

We may suspend or terminate access for misuse.


9. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to the processing of your data for order fulfilment and communication.


10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The version displayed on our website at the time of your order is the version that applies.

13. Age Restrictions

Customers must be 18 years or older to place an order on our website. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are at least 18 and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.


14. Purchases Made by Children or Minors

This section makes it clear that parents/guardians are responsible, not you. We are not responsible for orders placed by minors using a parent or guardian’s device, payment method, or account. Any such orders will be treated as authorised unless proven otherwise. Return and refund rules still apply.

This stops people trying to claim “my kid ordered it” to avoid fees.


15. Purchases Made Accidentally by Vulnerable or Disabled Individuals

If an order is placed accidentally by a vulnerable or disabled individual, we will review the situation on a case‑by‑case basis. However, once an order has been dispatched or delivered, our standard return, refund, and collection fees still apply unless required otherwise by law.


16. Customer Responsibility for Accurate Orders

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all order details, delivery instructions, and product selections are correct before checkout. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect orders caused by user error.


17. Customer Responsibility for Secure Devices

Customers are responsible for ensuring their devices, accounts, and payment methods are secure. We cannot cancel or refund orders placed through an account that appears valid and authorised at the time of purchase.
